NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Krystal Balls to the Yarnell Elementary School District Governing Board. The vacancy was due to the fact that no one filed for the position in the 2020 election cycle. The appointment will be effective upon taking the oath of office and will expire on December 31, 2022. An election in November of 2022 will determine who holds the seat going forward from that point.
Mr. Carter stated, “The voters of the District should be pleased that there were two well qualified residents who applied for the position.” Mrs. Balls has been a resident of the district since 2018. She is married and the couple have three (3) children, two of which, attend Model Creek School. Mrs. Balls holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Brigham Young University in Idaho and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She has worked for many years in various capacities within the nursing profession.
Mr. Carter posted this position twice, before receiving any letters of interest from residents. He then conducted an individual hour long interview of the individual applicants, prior to speaking individually with each of the elected members of the Governing Board and with district administration.
Superintendent Carter expressed confidence that “Mrs. Balls will be a strong addition to the existing Governing Board, offering a unique perspective as a parent. I am sure she will work collegially with the other Board Members and serve the diverse interests of the community well”.
Mr. Carter may be reached at 928-925-6560 (cell). Mrs. Balls may be contacted at 623-209-4369.
