Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Mingus Union High School District Governing Board. The opening is being created due to the resignation of Board Member John McTurk, due to health concerns. The vacancy is effective January 23, 2020. We greatly appreciate the service that Mr. McTurk has provided to the school district and the community.
In order to be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter within the school district, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or working for the district on a third party contract.
Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Friday, February 21, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview finalists at Mingus Union High School District office on Monday, February 24, 2020. The appointment should be announced by Wednesday, February 26, 2020 and be valid upon taking the oath of office, through December 31, 2020. This seat will be up for election in the 2020 election cycle, for a new term, beginning January 1, 2021 and concluding December 31, 2022.
