The appointment will be effective January 1, 2020 and will expire on December 31, 2020. The vacancy was due to the resignation of ten (10) year veteran Board Member Michael Taylor, who will serve through the remainder of 2019.  Mr. Taylor’s extended service and leadership to the school district is greatly appreciated.

Mr. Klever has been a resident of the Mountain Institute District for fifteen (15) years. He is married, and the couple have two adult children. Mr. Klever has been active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the YMCA, Prescott Education Foundation, and as the former President of Prescott Area Leadership.

Mr. Carter posted this position within the school districts and with local media. Upon receipt of letters of interest and a resume, he conducted an individual interview with three (3) well qualified applicants. That preceded speaking individually with each of the elected members of the Governing Boards of both Mountain Institute CTED and Prescott Unified School, their district executive leadership, and with various residents of the district.

Superintendent Carter said that “Mr. Klever is looking forward to this new challenge. He should be a supportive partner with the existing Board Members. His background, board experience, education, and work experience should serve him well in this new endeavor.
