NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Martin (Marty) Grossman to the Mountain Institute CTED Governing Board, representing the Humboldt Unified School District. The appointment is effective Wednesday, March 24, 2021 and will expire on December 31, 2022. The vacancy was due to the resignation of veteran Board Member Bryan Bullington, who has relocated out of the school district.

Mr. Grossman has been a resident of the district for twelve (12) years. He is a graduate of Adelphi University in New York, receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Management and Communications. Mr. Grossman was raised in New York and worked for thirty (30) years as a letter carrier with the United States Postal Service in Flushing, N.Y.

The new Governing Board Member is actively engaged with the community. He serves on the Humboldt Education Foundation, Prescott Area Habitat for Humanity Construction Crew, Prescott Valley Police Foundation, and has recently concluded successive elected terms on the Prescott Valley Town Council.

Mr. Carter stated that “Mr. Grossman is familiar with the operations and scope of public bodies. He is a solid proponent of Career and Technical Education and should be an excellent resource to the Mountain Institute CTED Governing Board. I believe he will represent the voters of the Humboldt School District very well. His past experience in working with people as a federal employee and as an elected local official will be a benefit as he carries out his new responsibilities.”

Mr. Carter accepted letters of interest from residents before conducting individual interviews of those who applied. There were two extremely well qualified candidates for the position.  He then spoke individually with the elected members of the Humboldt and Mountain Institute Governing Boards and with administration from both districts and received several comments from members of the public before making the appointment.

Superintendent Carter may be reached at 928-771-3326 (office) or 928-925-6560 (cell).  Mr. Grossman may be reached at 928-830-9927.
