NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Cathy Beck, to the Crown King Elementary School District Governing Board. The appointment will take effect upon taking the oath of office and will expire on December 31, 2022.  Mrs. Beck has indicated her intent to run in the 2022 election cycle for a continuing seat going forward.  The seat was vacant due to the fact that veteran Board Member Sheila Coleman resigned, without providing a reason.  We appreciate the service she provided to the school and community.

Mrs. Beck has been a resident of the district since 2020. She is married, and the couple have two (2) grown children and several grandchildren.  Mrs. Beck holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in General Studies with an emphasis in Computer Science and a Master of Arts in Business Administration from Western International University. Her work experience includes almost thirty (30) years as a Director of Technology, Business Architecture and Data Governance, Program Management, and she concluded her career as the Deputy Associate Superintendent for the Arizona Department of Education, as the Program Management Director.

Superintendent Carter stated that “Mrs. Beck’s experience as a parent, her background in computer science, and her previous work within the statewide education community should serve her well in this new position. She is certainly dedicated to what is best for the district and the students.”

Mr. Carter believes “Mrs. Beck understands the role of the Governing Board and will work to balance the needs of students, parents, staff, and the taxpayer. Her efforts will further strengthen an existing professional, thoughtful, and community centered Governing Board.
