Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Canon Elementary School District Governing Board. The opening was created by the resignation of long time Board Member Carol Nash, who will be spending considerable time outside of the school district. The resignation is effective March 1, 2021.

Candidates may include letters of recommendation or support if they wish. To be eligible to hold this seat a person must: be a registered voter, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse can not be employed by the school district or by a third-party provider.
Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Friday, January 8, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview candidates at the Canon School District Office in Black Canyon City on Monday, January 11, 2021. The appointment should be announced by Thursday, January 14, 2021, and be valid from the time of taking the oath of office until December 31, 2022.
