Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Bagdad Unified School District Governing Board.

          The opening was created by the resignation of Board Member Teresa Price, who stated “since other commitments have become too great for me to be able to fulfill the requirements of my position on the Board, and I feel it is best for me to make room for someone with the time and energy to devote to the job”.  We appreciate the service that Mrs. Price provided to the district and wish her the very best in the future. The resignation is effective August 1, 2021.

To be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse cannot be employed by the school district or by a third party provider to the district.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Friday, July 30, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Carter will interview candidates at the Bagdad School District offices on Monday, August 2, 2021. The appointment should be announced and become effective on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 and be valid through December 31, 2022.  To continue beyond that date, the candidate will need to run for the seat in the 2022 general election.
