Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Congress Elementary School District Governing Board. The opening was created due to the resignation of veteran Board Member David Zambrano, who did not provide a reason for his departure. We greatly appreciate the service that Mr. Zambrano provided to the school district and the community, most recently serving as the President of the Board. The resignation is effective January 10, 2024.

In order to be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter within the school district, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or working for the district on a third party contract.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview finalists at Congress School on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. The appointment should be announced by Friday, January 19, 2024, and be valid upon taking the oath of office, through December 31, 2024.
