NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is very pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Rich Goldman to the Yarnell Elementary School District Governing Board. The vacancy was due to the fact that no one filed for the position in the 2022 election cycle, and no one filed to seek an appointment over several months. The position is “nonpartisan” and has been open until filled.

The appointment will be effective upon taking the oath of office on March 30th and will expire on December 31, 2024. A ceremonial swearing in will take place at the Yarnell Governing Board meeting on April 13th. An election in November of 2024 will determine who holds the seat going forward from that point for a full term.

Mr. Carter stated, “The voters of the district should be pleased that Mr. Goldman, who served on the Board for five (5) years from 2015-2020, was willing to return to the Board.” He also has previous experience on the Peeples Valley Fire District Board as well. Mr. Goldman was born and raised in California, and upon graduation from high school attended El Camino Community College for two years, studying Vocational Education. He then attended Southern California Regional Occupation Center for two years, taking substantial course work in welding, automotive, computer science, and printing. Mr. Goldman worked as a Lithographer for TRW Space Defense “Satellite Division” from 1965 to 2000. He is married and has been a resident of the district, living in Peeples Valley since 2003.

Superintendent Carter expressed confidence that “Mr. Goldman will be a strong addition to the existing Governing Board, offering a unique perspective as a former elected official. I am sure he will work collegially with the other Board Members and serve the diverse interests of the community well”. Mr. Carter may be reached at 928-925-6560 (cell). Mr. Goldman may be contacted at 310-291-1930.
