Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Kathy Stockman to the Seligman Unified District Governing Board. The appointment is non-partisan by law. This vacancy was due to the passing of long time Board Member Patricia Foy. We greatly appreciate the service provided to the school and the community by Mrs. Foy over several years.
The appointment will be effective January 26, 2024, and expire on December 31, 2024. Mrs. Stockman has indicated she plans to run for the seat in the 2024 election cycle for a new Board term beginning January 1, 2025.
Mr. Carter posted a position in mid-December, seeking applications from interested and qualified individuals. Mr. Carter accepted letters of interest and held the interview on January 17th. He then spoke individually with elected members of the Governing Board, members of the school staff, and several area residents prior to making the appointment.
Mrs. Stockman is a graduate of Maryvale High School in Phoenix. She has resided in Seligman for three (3) years. She is married and has two granddaughters that attend Seligman schools. She is retired after work as a Quality Control Manager for companies like Temper Sealy, Intel and Honeywell. Mr. Carter may be reached at 928-925-6560 (cell).
