Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has previously announced a vacancy on the Clarkdale Jerome Elementary School District Governing Board. That opening was created by the resignation of Board Member Tom Stewart, due to health-related issues. Now, there is a second vacancy due to the fact that Board Member Michael Sullivan is relocating to Florida.
We greatly appreciate the dedicated service that Mr. Stewart and Mr. Sullivan have provided to the school district and the community. We wish them both the very best. Superintendent Carter plans to fill both of these seats at the same time, if the number and quality of candidates make that possible
In order to be eligible to hold this NON PARTISAN position a person must; be a registered voter within the school district, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or working for the district on a third party contract.
Deadline for receipt of letters of interest and a resume is Monday, September 25, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Documents may be sent by sent by US mail or delivered in person to the address above. They may also be emailed to Tim.Carter@yavapaiaz.gov. Mr. Carter will interview finalists at the Clarkdale-Jerome School District office on Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The appointments should be announced by Thursday, September 28, 2023 and be valid from taking the oath of office through December 31, 2024. If the appointees plan to continue past that date, they will need to run for the seats in the 2024 election cycle, with a new term beginning January 1, 2025.
