Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter is pleased to announce the appointment of Krystal Rossi, to the Canon Elementary School District Governing Board. This appointment will take effect November 27, 2023, and will expire on December 31, 2024. By law in Arizona, Governing Board seats are “nonpartisan”. This seat will be up for election by voters in the November 2024 election cycle.
This seat was vacant due to the resignation of Board Member Margaret Opsal, due to personal reasons. The service that Board Member Opsal provided to the school district and community is greatly appreciated.
Ms. Rossi graduated from Goldwater High School in Phoenix in 2005. She attended Independence University, an accredited online University in Utah, and received an Associates Degree in Business Administration and a Bachelors degree in Accounting. She currently works for U-Haul Corporation.
Krystal and her family have lived in Black Canyon City since January of 2018. Her daughter is in 5th grade at Canon School. The County Superintendent believes that “Ms. Rossi will work to balance the needs of students, parents, staff, and the taxpayer”. Like a great majority of new Board Members, there will be a learning curve, but I am certain, she will do well.”
Superintendent Carter accepted letters of interest and resumes before conducting a personal interview on November 22nd. He then spoke individually with each of the elected members of the Governing Board, and members of the school administration prior to making the appointment. He also received comments from members of the public which he greatly appreciates. Mr. Carter may be reached at 928-925-6560 (cell).
