NEWS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Mountain Institute Career and Technology Education (CTED) School District Governing Board, due to the resignation of veteran Board Member Ted Coleman. The resignation is due to the fact that he has relocated out of the community and is no longer eligible to serve. The resignation was effective July 12, 2022. The service that Mr. Coleman has provided to the school district and district residents is greatly appreciated. He was the longest serving member of the Board. He loved the students, the CTED programs, and the Ash Fork community.
Because of the proximity of this vacancy to the filing deadline for the upcoming November Governing Board elections, Mr. Carter has determined that this vacancy will not be filled at this time.
Mr. Carter said, “Due to the timeline that filling this vacancy would require, it is in the best interest of all involved to wait until the nomination / election process is concluded to make an appointment. The appointment is expected to be in mid-August after the nomination / election cycle for this seat has been finalized. There was one person filed for this position at the time of the deadline.
