Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Mountain Institute Career and Technology Education District (MICTED) Governing Board, representing Seligman Unified School District, effective February 17, 2022.
The opening was created by the resignation of Board Member Andrew Smiley, who has relocated out of the school district and as a result, is no longer eligible to serve. Superintendent Carter expressed his understanding and appreciation for the service that Mr. Smiley provided to the district.

To be eligible to hold this seat a person must: be a registered voter within the Seligman Unified School District, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse cannot be employed by Mountain Institute CTED or by a third-party provider. Deadline for receipt of letters of interest and resumes is Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview candidates in Seligman on Monday, March 14, 2022. The appointment should be announced by Tuesday, March 15, 2022 and be valid from the time of taking the oath of office until December 31, 2022.
