Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced an immediate vacancy on the Mayer Unified School District Governing Board. The opening was created by the fact that veteran Board Member and former Board President Mark Mathern has resigned, for medical reasons. The resignation is effective December 8th. We greatly appreciate the service that Mr. Mathern provided to the school district and the community through twenty-six (26) years of service. We wish him the very best in the future.
In order to be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter within the school district, be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or working for the district on a third party contract.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest and resumes is Monday, January 2, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Mr. Carter will interview finalists at the Mayer Unified School District office on Thursday, January 5, 2023. The appointment should be announced by Friday, January 6, 2023 and be valid from taking the oath of office through December 31, 2024.
