Yavapai County School Superintendent Tim Carter has announced a vacancy on the Seligman Unified School District Governing Board. The opening is being created by the resignation of Mrs. Cheryl James, who cited her inability to attend meetings as the reason.  The resignation was effective on October 27, 2021. We appreciate the service that Mrs. James provided to the school district and the community.

In order to be eligible to hold this seat a person must; be a registered voter within the school district,  be a citizen of the United States of America, be at least 18 years of age, possess their civil rights, have continually resided within the school district for at least one year immediately preceding taking office, and they or their spouse may not be employed by the district, or working for the district on a third party contract.

Deadline for receipt of letters of interest is Friday, November 19, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.  Mr. Carter will interview finalists at the Seligman Unified School District office on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. The appointment should be announced by Wednesday, November 23, 2021 and be valid from taking the oath of office through December 31, 2022.  This seat will be up for election in the 2022 election cycle.
